"FOLK POWER WITH PUNK ENERGY”
Long before Brodka appeared in Polish show business it was clear that she will make an extraordinary debut. Despite her young age (16 at the time) she already was a PERSONALITY. She was difficult to put in one of the obvious stereotypes such as “folk artist”, “an idol” or just “one more girl debut in the showbusinnes”. Brodka’s first album was very mature. She amazed everyone with her sensitive and fresh music but most of all her fantastic voice. Her second album, released to years later also gained a Goldem Record status.
Brodka’s new album is a very sharp turn in her career. She’s come back with more life experiences, confident and opened to artistic experiments. For the first time Brodka can say this is HER OWN album. It took 4 years (between the albums) for her to find her true track and direction in music but looks like it was worth it. The result is “GRANDA”. It’s producer and co-composer of all songs is Bartosz Dziedzic.
„GRANDA” (our Sept 2010) is a very varied record. An album that’s very difficult to define. “Granda” became the biggest success in Brodka’s career so far. Right now the album is Platinum, going for a double Platinum. Both Brodka and Bartosz got very good reviews for their work and were nominated for all kinds od awards, eg. SuperHiro Magazine Award (won), Gala’s Rose (won), Polityka Passport, MTV Music Award. The Phonographic Academy nominated Brodka to 8 Fryderyki award (the most important awards in Polish music business), eventually they won 3: Best Female Vocalist, Best Pop Album, best Music Production.
Monika has been nominated to MTV Europen Music Award 2011.
Since the release of „GRANDA” Brodka is CONSTATNTLY touring with her band all over Poland. They already gave over 60 concerts. And GRANDA Tour is still on the road…
Except her music path Brodka’s two other passions are photography and fashion. In both of which she is very successful. At the age of 23 she’e already stated by fashion magazines as a fashion icon.
